In House Instructional League
The In House Instructional League is designed for players of all skill levels. The focus is on establishing the fundamentals of baseball and creating opportunities for players to learn and improve. Divisions
AA - 7-8 Years Old
Games are now more competitive with games being 6 innings, 3 outs per inning and scores being recorded. Players are now pitching. If a player would walk a player, the coach will pitch to the hitter.
T-Ball - 4 Years Old
Teams are kept small with lots of hands on attention allowed for coaches and parents. This is a great introduction to baseball with kids of the same age who are all starting their journey in baseball.
AAA - 9-10 Years Old
Competition continues to increase with the introduction of walks and steals. No more coaches pitching. Overthrow rules and pitcher control rules are in place.
Majors - 11-12 Years Old
Players at this age will have all baseball rules in place, allowing lead offs and steals.
Rookie - 5-6 Years Old
Games are 3 innings with each player on each team hitting each inning. Coaches pitch. Players can also use a tee if needed. Each team will follow the pattern of a game with one team playing in the field and one team batting at a time. Outs and runs are not recorded.
Clinics
As part of our Player Development, we run clinics in our fall and spring seasons to help focus on specific skills for players to learn.
Clinics are free as part of your registration.
Teams & Drafting
T-Ball / Rookie
For T-Ball and Rookie, teams are automatically created. We do allow requests if kids want to play on the same team but the VP of In House has the final say in any team requests.
AA, AAA and Majors
For the Spring Season, each player is evaluated at an evaluation day. Players are scored based on this evaluation and those scores are used in the drafting process. Coaches for each team then draft their teams in order to create teams that are evenly matched. Requests for players to be on specific teams can only be relayed to the coach for their draft.
For the Fall Season, there is no evaluations or drafts. Teams are allocated by the VP of In House based on previous scores and discussions with coaches. While it is possible to request to be on a specific team, it’s at the discretion of the VP of In House. The goal is still the same to provide competitive games. We don’t want teams to be vastly different in their skill levels.
Games & Practices
Spring Baseball consists of 2 games per week and 1 practice.
Fall Baseball consists of 1 game per week and 1 practice or clinic.
For AA, AAA and Majors, games are typically played on Monday or Wednesday and then on Saturday Morning. All teams typically play Saturday mornings.
Practices are scheduled by the coaches. They can be held at any parks in the city that are first come first serve. We also have established partnerships with the park district and other leagues in the area to secure practice fields for teams and coaches. This is managed by the VP of In House.
